Establishment of the Kara E. Holifield Endowment Scholarship

"The most important function of education at any level is to develop the personality of the individual and the significance of his life to himself and to others." - Grayson Kirk, President Columbia University, Jan. 27, 1963

These words truly embody the spirit of what Kara's Kids, Inc. was created to provide...a helping hand to a brighter future through education.  LeTourneau Univeristy (LETU) fostered that development for Kara, and in deference to the home she found there, Kara's Kids, Inc. is working to establish an endowment scholarship in Kara's name at LETU.  Our aim is to create a scholarship, the Kara E. Holifield "Shining Light" Award, that would be awarded annually to a Junior level undergraduate studying at LETU.  A $10,000 tuition award will be presented to a student who excells in the areas of academics, service to others, student leadership, a display of compassion for others, and citizenship... in short, a student who is a "Shining Light" in this world.

With your help, we can make this happen.  Please give what you can. No donation is too small and every donation serves as a step that will carry us to our goal.

As always, donations can be made by simply clicking on the donate button located beneath the thermometer or by check made payable to:
