The Creation of Kara's Kids

Kara Holifield was pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology at LeTourneau University when she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).  On August 1, 2011, she lost her 15 month battle with cancer.  She was 22.  Kara's dream was to teach digital electronics to high school students.  She did not get the chance to achieve this dream or have children of her own.  Therefore, we created Kara's Kids as a legacy to her belief in education.  Although she is gone, Kara's dream of educating others will live on.

Kara's Kids in conjuction with Lifepoint Church will provide tuition for underpriviledged children in Nairobi, Kenya.  The school is called Kisumu Dogo and is located in the Kibera slum.

If you would like to contibute, all you have to do is push the Donate button located to the right.  Contributions may also be made directly to the church.
